Understanding American Bulldog Health and Wellness
American Bulldogs are strong, athletic dogs that require specific healthcare attention. Knowing common health concerns and practicing preventative care are essential for a long, healthy life.
Strong Genetics
Our breeding program focuses on genetic health testing via Embark DNA to prevent congenital diseases, and we utilize PennHip testing to guide us in breeding only dogs with excellent hip health.
Best Practices
Quality nutrition, plenty of exercise and play, obedience training, and following your vet’s recommendations are the foundations of keeping your American Bulldog healthy and happy.
FAQs
Adopting one of our Bulldogs is a straightforward process. First, you’ll fill out our inquiry form. Then, we’ll guide you through the next steps to ensure a perfect match.
The cost of adoption reflects the quality and care provided, and it reflects the lineages and accomplishments of our dogs. The cost also reflects the pricing from other quality AB breeders around the country. The cost will be greater for a puppy that is adopted with breeding rights than for a puppy that is adopted without breeding rights.. For detailed pricing, please reach out to us directly.
Yes, our puppies undergo a comprehensive socialization program. This helps them develop stable temperaments, faster adaptation to new experiences, and familiarity with children, adults, and other dogs. We accomplish this by starting our three-day old pups on a 16-day Early Neurological Stimulus (ENS) program. This strengthens their neural pathways involved with adapting to physical stress and new experiences, and it strengthens their hearts and vasculature which is great for their developing immune systems. As the puppies grow, we put them through an adapted version of the Puppy Culture program developed by Jane Killion. I say “adapted,” because this course also includes an in-depth introduction to clicker training. We do not clicker train our puppies so thoroughly.
We ensure our puppies are up to date on vaccinations and dewormer, and we ensure that they are free from genetic issues through genetic testing. Your puppy’s health is our top priority.
Yes, we deliver inside the USA for an additional cost. We do not deliver outside of the USA, since the FDA made a new law requiring puppies to be a minimum age of 6 months old before traveling internationally. However, if you are willing to pay a far greater price and are willing to wait for 6 months, then we may be able to accommodate an international delivery for you.
